Day 01: Arrive in Siem Reap
Arrive in Siem Reap, a pleasant sleepy backwater serving as a gateway to the ancient capital of Angkor. Meet your guide and transfer to the hotel. Start exploring the stunning temples by a fun tuk-tuk ride to the royal city of Angkor Thom. At first glance, it seems a shapeless mass of stone, but further scrutiny reveals enigmatic faces looking at every direction, with half-closed eyes, all looking content and serene. Continue your exploration by visiting Elephant Terrace served as a platform from which to view his victorious returning army and the Leper King Terrace with perfect carvings winding along a narrow passage way. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 02: Siem Reap
After breakfast, continue your culture tour with a visit to the picturesque Ta Prohm, a jungle-clad temple with overgrown trees, giving a haunting and exotic atmosphere. The magnificent roots of a tree push itself between the temple’s huge stone blocks in an embrace, emphasizing the ‘lost city’ feel. In the afternoon, visit the intricately carved Khmer ruins at Angkor Wat, one of the world’s most impressive temple ruins constructed between 9th and 13th centuries. The temple still owns hundreds of fine carvings of Apsara and Hindu mythology. Stroll around the massive watch the temple in sunset. Hallways and discover small shrines still in use today by the local people. Option to stay in the ground to see Angkor Wat at sunset – it remains enigmatic in twilight. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 03: Siem Reap
In the morning, drive about 45-minutes to the countryside, stopping en route to visit a local village. Arrive at the quay and board a local boat for a 1.5-hour ride on the Tonle Sap Lake (the best times are from July to February), also known as the Great Lake of Cambodia. Find out how communities live and work on the lake; see the floating schools, markets, and police stations, among others; observe their daily lives. Get off and visit a typical floating house to interact with the local families. Back to town before driving 35km to the rural outskirts in the afternoon to visit the jewel of Khmer art, Banteay Srei temple.
